NGAIJANG PROJECT
The word “NGAIJANG” in Thadou-Kuki means “helping the laden.” It is about lightening the burdens of others which is rooted in an Indigenous wisdom. In this context, it is to lighten the burdens of victims of the ongoing violence in Manipur. The project is funded by Azim Premji Foundation for the duration of 12 months.
To lighten the burdens of internally displaced persons/families (IDP), we provide holistic support to their children in two ways: (1) We run Som-Ins or separate Hostels for 50 boys and 50 girls age 12 to 18 and support younger children age 4 to 11 in twelve different relief centres in Churachandpur.
